Jeff Ranen

Founding Partner

As the Founding Partner of Atticus Law Group, Jeff Ranen leads a dedicated team of former defense attorneys united by a singular mission: to pursue justice for individuals facing workplace mistreatment. Leveraging decades of combined experience in employment law defense, we now champion the rights of employees wronged by their current or former employers. In addition to employment law, he represents victims of school bullying and also prosecute cases involving serious to catastrophic personal injuries. Serving clients statewide, Jeff takes on cases from San Diego to regions north of San Francisco.

Jeff is a trial attorney and is frequently retained by other law firms across the state to act as lead counsel in pending cases.

  • Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP (2002–2023):
    • Elevated to equity partner in 2009, the youngest capital partner in the history of the law firm;
    • National Co-Chair of the Employment Law Department, supervising more than 250 employment law attorneys from coast to coast;
    • Elected to the nine-person Management Committee in 2021, overseeing operations for the entire firm;
    • Won trials in 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020;
    • At time of departure, held the third most senior ownership share of the firm out of over 160 equity partners.
